Evaluations provide specific information about
a child's learning strengths and weaknesses. Our battery of standardised tests
will measure the following areas about your child:
Intellectual Potential
Learning patterns/concentration & attention
Ability to process information
Present academic achievement
Behaviour screening
An evaluation will offer a clear picture of how
your child is learning and an insight into the necessary steps for improving
academic success. The detailed and highly individualised recommendations provide
a guide for parents, teachers and other health professionals who may be involved
with your child.
How long does the
testing take?
There are three stages to the testing process:
Initially our consultant psychologist will meet
with the parents to collect background information about your child. This
meeting will also be an opportunity for parents to highlight any concerns
and/or personal requests they may have in relation to the testing. Following
this the consultant will also want to meet with the child for a brief interview.
The second stage is the testing which takes 3 to
5 hours over 1 or 2 sessions depending on the level of assessment required.
During the final stage, the consultant writes up
the report and recommendations. The report is then sent to the parents and
a conference is arranged to discuss any queries about the report. This will
be either face to face or by telephone depending on the level of assessment.
Which evaluation
would best suit the needs of our child?
We offer two types of evaluation which depends on
the specific needs of the child and the reasons for referral. After careful
discussion with our staff, the decision of the most appropriate evaluation
will be made with the parents.
How much does it cost?
The cost ranges between £300.00 & £500.00. This
price includes, administering the test, a full written report and a results
conference with a full range of recommendations and resources for further
action.
