"All teachers are teachers of pupils with special educational needs. Teaching such pupils is therefore a whole school responsibility requiring a whole-school response"

(Code of Practice, 2001)

As the above statement clearly indicates, all teachers and teaching support staff are responsible within the inclusion principle for all types of 'non traditional learners'. Consequently all members of staff in UK schools should be conversant with the range of specialist needs that children will exhibit. As a result, teachers should be able to recognise, manage, teach and deal with many additional academic and behavioural issues that may not have been fully covered in previous training programmes.

DC educational services have some of the best INSET and Continuing Professional Development providers of teacher training in the area of Learning Difficulties within the UK. Focussing on helping students with learning, behavioural and socialisation issues in the areas of:

Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder
Conduct Disorder
Dyslexia
Dysphasia
Dyscalculia
Gifted and Talented
Oppositional Defiant Disorder

Now a new INSET training service is available to provide solutions for specific academic and socialisation difficulties. The focus is a 'proactive' rather than a 'reactive' approach to the teaching and management of alternative learners within the school environment.

Through a series of entertaining and stimulating presentations, teachers will be empowered to form strategies within their organisational settings. Issues such as school structures curriculum differentiation issues, flexible application of systems and relationship development will be discussed.

Presentations are available for full, half day or evening sessions designed to cater to your organisation's specific requirements
